Privacy Policy

DUNK Grassroots is a nonprofit organisation. We collect personal information only to support our mission — never to sell it, rent it, or use it for commercial profit.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

1. Who we are

DUNK Grassroots (“DUNK”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a youth-led, community-based non-governmental organisation based in Accra, Ghana. We empower at-risk young people through inclusive sports, education, and life skills.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through dunk-grassroots.org (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at info@dunkgrassroots.org.

2. Our commitment: no profit from your data

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise commercialise personal information for profit. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, sell leads, or generate revenue from data.

Any information you share with us is used solely to operate our programmes, respond to your requests, steward donations and partnerships, and fulfil our nonprofit mission.

3. Information we collect

We collect information you choose to provide, including when you:

  • Submit a volunteer or partnership inquiry (for example, name, email, phone number, organisation, and message)
  • Contact us by email, phone, or post
  • Make a donation or arrange an in-kind contribution
  • Communicate with our team about programmes, events, or visits

4. How we use information

We use personal information only for legitimate nonprofit purposes, such as:

  • Responding to volunteer, partnership, donation, and general inquiries
  • Coordinating programme participation, events, and community activities
  • Acknowledging donations and maintaining appropriate stewardship records
  • Improving the Site and our communications so they remain clear and useful
  • Meeting legal, accounting, safeguarding, and reporting obligations

5. How we share information

We do not share personal information with third parties for their marketing or commercial gain.

We may share limited information when necessary to run our work — for example with trusted service providers who help us operate email, hosting, analytics (Google Analytics, only if you accept optional cookies), or payment tools — or when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of young people and communities we serve. Anyone who processes information on our behalf is expected to handle it carefully and only for the purpose we specify.

6. Cookies and Site technology

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are needed for basic functionality, security, and remembering your cookie preferences. Optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it — for example which pages are visited and how people move through the Site.

Google Analytics only loads after you choose “Accept all.” If you choose “Essential only,” we do not load analytics scripts. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the site footer. Analytics data may be processed by Google according to their terms; we configure analytics for measurement, not advertising networks, and we do not sell behavioural profiles.

7. Children and young people

Our mission serves children and youth. We take safeguarding seriously. Parents, guardians, or responsible adults should supervise any online contact involving minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site for commercial purposes, and we do not use children’s information for profit generation.

If you believe we have received information from a child inappropriately, contact us and we will review and address it promptly.

8. Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law and good nonprofit practice. We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we work to reduce risk and respond if issues arise.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct, update, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to limit how we use it for communications. To make a request, email info@dunkgrassroots.org. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

You may also opt out of non-essential communications by contacting us or using unsubscribe options where provided.

10. External links

The Site may link to third-party websites or services (for example, our shop or social media pages). Those sites have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or policies; please review them before sharing information there.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
